Troy James Welborn, 61, Nickelsville, VA passed away Saturday, September 1, 2007 at his residence in Nickelsville, VA.
Mr. Welborn was born in South Carolina on October 19, 1945, son of the late Jarvis and Evelyn Newman Welborn.
In addition to his parents, his sister, Helen Welborn preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Glenda Welborn, Nickelsville, VA, daughter, Gena Pope and husband, David, Iron Station, NC, step daughters, Michelle Jones, Tampa, FL, and Cheryl Horne and husband, Jeff, Ruskin, FL, grandchildren, Natalie Pope and Hayden and Hannah Horne, sisters, Leona Jolley, Altamonte Springs, FL and Pauline Watkins, Orlando, FL, brother, Albert Welborn, Altamonte Springs, FL along with many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Monday, September 3, 2007 at the Nickelsville Baptist Church. Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. in the church sanctuary with Rev. Steve Collins officiating. The Nickelsville Baptist Church Choir will provide music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at the Addington Frame Cemetery in the Nickelsville community. David Pope, Jeff Horne, Toy Ridings and Donald Welborn will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the Nickelsville Baptist Church to go in procession to the gravesite.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions are made to the First Baptist Church of Nickelsville, VA, 11606 Nickelsville Highway, Nickelsville, VA 24271.
