Wayne Alex Raboin – Duffield, VA

Wayne Alex Raboin, 68, Duffield, Virginia passed away, at his home on the morning of June 12, 2025.

Born November 26, 1956, in Michigan, Wayne spent the majority of his life in Big Stone Gap, Virginia, with brief periods living in Ohio and Michigan.

He was a hard-working man who dedicated much of his life to the logging and oil drilling industries before retiring.

Wayne was known for his strength, humor, and no-nonsense work ethic – traits that earned him deep respect from everyone who knew him.

He was a devoted family man who found joy in the simple pleasures in life. He was a lifelong lover of sports, especially basketball and NASCAR.

In his younger years, he could often be found throwing horseshoes with friends, spending time with his grandkids, and riding around in his classic Monte Carlo - a car he truly loved.

In his older days, he could be found lounging around in his recliner with his three Siamese cats sitting on his lap.

He is survived by his children, Kandy (Bruno) Petrovic, and Michael Raboin, his brother, Randy Raboin, sisters, Cheryl Raboin, Lori Zaremba, Dana Raboin and Jodi Pruitt, grandchildren, Jazmine (Cody) Fannon, Sierra (Dustin) Fannon, C.J. Johnson, Malachi Raboin, Emily Johnson, and Landon Raboin, and his great grandchildren, Raelyn Blair and Jameson Hampton.

Wayne was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 25 years, Mattie (Katy)Raboin, his father, Wayne and stepmother, Jean Raboin.

He was loved by many, and his presence in the lives of his family will be sorely missed. His memory will live on in the stories told, the lessons passed down, and the love he gave so freely.
