Wanda Geraldine “Jerry” Bishop, 97, Weber City, VA, went to be with her “sweet little Jesus”, Monday, July 14, 2025, at NOVA Health and Rehab.
Jerry was born on May 13, 1928, in Bland County, VA, to the late Ellis and Lillie Belle (Stacy) Ford.
She spent her entire life in Clinchport, VA working as a beautician. She always said the 35 years she spent married to Dewy Bishop were the happiest of her life.
They loved gardening and family gatherings, especially at Thanksgiving and Christmas. She was quite the cook and passed down many recipes to her family.
Jerry was a member of Kaylor’s Chapel Church for over 30 years.
She was a blessing and a joy be around and will be greatly missed.
In addition to her parents, her husband, Dewey Bishop; son, Larry Mullins; brother, Deryl Ford; sisters-in-law, Sharon Ford, Phyllis Ford, and Venus Vaughn; brother-in-law, H.C. Ervin; and nephew, Gennis H. “Hoagie” Ford II, preceded her in death.
Left to cherish her memory is her son, Tommy Mullins (Alma); daughter-in-law, Susan Mullins; grandchildren, Scott Mullins, Brent Mullins (Rachel), Craig Mullins (Santana), Matthew Mullins, Jake Mullins (Jess), Laura Calfee (Nelson), Freddie Correll (Allen); great grandchildren, Griffin Hicks (Ian), Cannon Mullins, Tucker Calfee, Cooper Calfee, Baker Correll, Kennedy Mullins, Blakely Mullins, and Adalyn Mullins; sisters, Bobbie Ervin and Claralee Lane (Claude), sisters-in-law, Shirley Bellamy, Beatrice Bledsoe, Hope Davidson, and Nancy Ford; brothers, Wally Pat Ford, and Gennis Ford; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m., Thursday, July 17, 2025, at the Gate City Funeral Home. Services will be conducted at 1:00p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Wes Ford officiating. Music will be provided by The Hoods.
Graveside services will follow at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Scott Mullins, Brent Mullins, Craig Mullins, Matthew Mullins, Jake Mullins, and Gennis Ford will serve as pallbearers. Members of Kaylor’s Chapel Church will serve as honorary pallbearers.
