Lucille Tomlinson, 95, entered into eternal rest surrounded by her loving family, Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at the Nova Health and Rehab, Weber City, VA.
She was born in Wise County, VA on June 6, 1924 to the late, H.M. and Belle Kindle Williams.
Lucille was a loving mother, mamaw and homemaker, always seeking pleasure in gardening and quilting. She loved spending time with her many family and friends. In her retirement years, Lucille enjoyed traveling with her loving husband.
In addition to her parents, her best friend and loving husband, W.O. “Caney” Tomlinson; brothers, Bud Kerns, Brian Williams, and Rex Williams; sisters, Marie Frasier, Peggy Williams; daughter, Vida Bennett; son, John Tomlinson; sons-in-law, David Leighton and Richard Mitchell preceded her in death.
She is survived by her son, Richard Tomlinson and wife, Sharon, Piney Flats, TN; daughters, Margie Mitchell, Aurora, CO, Nancy Mcfarlan and husband, Sandy, Deltona, FL, Sandra Leighton, Kingsport, TN; sister, Kate Livesay, Kingsport, TN; brother, Heartsel Williams, Batesville, AR; 14 grandchildren; 14 great -grandchildren; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family will receive friends from12:00pm – 2:00pm Saturday, September 21, 2109 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00pm in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Garry Hood officiating.
Burial will follow the service, Saturday, September 21, 2019 at the Tomlinson Family Cemetery, Duffield, VA. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. R.C. Tomlinson, Paul Rhoton and Kenneth Neeley will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family would like to express a special thank you to the nurses and staff of NOVA Health Center and caregivers, Christi, Rhonda, Christi and Ms. Lane.
