Lotus Taylor Nickelsville, VA ? Myrtle Lotus Good Taylor, 91, departed from this life on August 18, 2007. She was the oldest daughter of Luther and Mary Pearl Addington Good, and was born on July 23, 1916. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Henry Taylor on July 10, 1986. Her son, Tommy Henry Taylor, June 2005, and a daughter-in-law, Myrtle Lee Smith Taylor in October 2005, and a son-in-law, Charles Smith in February 2006; brother, Eugene Good, 2003. She was a devoted Christian and had previously attended Greenwood Chapel Church. She and Henry were the founders of the church, and were both instrumental establishing a place for their children and the community to attend. She also loved to play her guitar and sing with her friends. Her family and friends were blessed with her wonderful love and care for 91 years. She is survived by her children and families, Mrs. Cleo Lark and husband, Lester, Mrs. Ruth Hillman and husband, Thomas, Mrs. Ada Murriel Smith, Mr. Joe Benton Taylor, Mr. Jack Taylor and wife, Shirley, Mrs. Deborah Gilmer and husband, Tommy; grandchildren, Gary Lark and wife, Sherry, Teresa Hillman Moody and Gerald, Randy and Lynne Hillman, Sharon Hillman Good and Rick, Michael Smith and wife, Lisa, Angela Smith, Mitch Taylor and wife, Melinda, Kim Taylor Blevins and husband, Sid, Leslie Baker and husband, Eric, Samuel and Logan Gilmer, Mark (Bo) Taylor and wife, Kendra, Melissa Trivette and Robert; great grandchildren, Christy Lark Bailey and Chad. Mrs. Brandan Lark Looney and Joe, April Lark Bishop and Jeff, Clint Hillman, Israel Moody, Hannah Ruth Stevens, Hunter, Holden and Hayden Smith, Chancellor and Chessie Taylor, Taylor Grace and Rylee Beth Blevins, Jacob Anson Taylor, Alisha and Ashley Trivette, Mason Cole Baker, due in September; one brother, Mr. Joe Good and wife, Margie; sisters, Ruby Good Taylor Scott, Eileen Good Frazier and Louetta Good Taylor; sisters-in-law, Mrs. Lotus McConnell Good and Mrs. Sally Taylor Fuller. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, August 21, 2007 at Gate City Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the Taylor home on Nickelsville Hwy., in Taylor Town anytime. Services will follow at 8 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Lelbert Thornberg officiating. Music will be provided by the Thornberg family. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 22, 2007 at Taylor Family Cemetery. The family will meet at the Taylor Homeplace. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Gary Lark, Mike Smith, Randy Hillman and Clint Hillman, Mitchell Taylor, and Mark (Bo) Taylor. Honorary pallbearers will be Carl Taylor, Billy Joe Good, Edward Frazier, Gerald Taylor, Pat Good, Don Taylor, June White, Sam Kilgore, Buster Addington, and Doyle Rasnick.
