Jerry Wayne Taylor, 71, Ft. Blackmore, VA passed away, Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
Jerry was born in Sullivan County, TN on May 20, 1950, lived in Clinchport, VA and was the son of the late Arthur and Oakie (Stacy) Taylor.
He was retired from Brock.
Dad was a very simple, kind, and loving man whose hobbies were watching westerns, drinking his coffee, and smoking his cigarettes. He was always there if anyone needed his help.
In addition to his parents, his son, Scott Taylor, in-laws, Roy and Hazel Carter, brothers, Keith, Chester, Paul, and Frank Taylor, sister, Mary Etta Todd, brothers-in-law, James Thompson, J.W. Depew, and Billy Carter preceded him in death.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Jennifer (Carter) Taylor, daughter, Jennie (Will) Hughes, grandson, Josh Rhoton, sisters, Frances Depew, Marjorie Thompson, brothers, Denny (Vicki) Taylor, and Dwight (Kathy) Taylor, sisters-in-law, Bessy Darnell, and Gaynell (Donnie) Darnell, brothers-in-law, Bud, and Bobby Carter, along with several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11: 00 a.m., Friday, April 8, 2022, at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA with Brother Bob Underwood officiating. Damon Depew will provide the music. Jeff Wilson, Jimmy Babb, Josh Rhoton, Will Hughes, David Thompson, Steve Thompson, and Dwight Taylor will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at Holston View, Friday, at 10:45 a.m. for the graveside service.
