Stephanie Louise Garnett- Gate City, VA

Stephanie Louise (Spencer) Garnett, 57, Gate City, VA, passed away, Thursday, January 4, 2024, at Holston Valley Medical Center, after a courageous 6-year battle with cancer.

Stephanie was born on June 17, 1966, to the late Teddy Monroe Spencer and Maria (Veltman) Spencer.

She joined the services immediately following her High School graduation, serving 14 years in the United States Air Force. She made her living as a caregiver in Home Health Care, until her health prevented her from doing so.

In addition to her father, Teddy Monroe Spencer; her sister, Melanie Spencer; brothers, James “Jim” Spencer, and Teddy (TJ) Spencer, preceded her in death.

Left to cherish her memory are her mother, Maria (Veltman) Spencer; son Alex Garnett; partner, Timmie Hammonds; sister-in-law, Debbie Spencer; and several nieces and nephews.

Military graveside services will be conducted at 2:00p.m., Monday, January 8, 2024, at the Spencer Family Cemetery, Dungannon, VA. Military Rites will be conducted by the American Legion Hammond Post #3, Kingsport, TN, Post #265, Gate City, VA, National Guard Honors Team.

Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at 1:30p.m., for the graveside service. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
