Bobby Joe Starnes, 72, of Duffield, VA passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at Norton Community Hospital.
Bobby was born in Scott County, VA on April 3, 1947 to the late Frank Elisha Starnes and Dorie Helen (Stanley) Starnes.
He was a former teacher in the Scott County School Systems for many years. He taught at Rye Cove Elementary.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory sons, Christopher Scott Starnes, Zephyr Hills, FL, Robert Shawn Starnes, and wife Nikki, Kingsport, TN; brother, Benny Starnes, and wife Kathy, Duffield, VA; grandchildren, Zachary, Savannah, Jakob, Tessa, Joseph, Jessalyn, Macee, Jared, Jenna; great-grandchildren, Mason and Carson; several nieces and nephews; host of friends.
The graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at 11:00 a.m., at Hall Cemetery in Stanleytown Community in Duffield, VA, with Pastor Terry Rhoton Officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at Gate City Funeral Home by 10:15 to go in procession to the cemetery.
