Fred Lee Stanley, 77, Duffield, VA passed away, Monday, March 25, 2019 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
Fred was born in Scott County, VA on July 18, 1941 and was the son of the late Billy J. and Effie (Dockery) Stanley.
He was retired from Quebecor, where he worked in Casing.
In addition to his parents, his brother, Nathaniel “Bob” Stanley preceded him in death.
He is survived by his daughters, Ronda Goad and husband, Paul, Kingsport, TN and Katherine Ketron and husband, Randy, Kingsport, TN; sons, Chris Stanley and Morgan Frazier, Duffield, VA and Larry Hardy and wife, Lynn, Loris, SC; grandchildren, Tyler, Halie, Logan, Lauren, and Maizie; two great grandchildren; sister, Kathleen Starnes, Duffield, VA; brother, Howard “Buck” Stanley and wife, Frankie, Duffield, VA; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, March 28, 2019 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Paul Wright officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 29, 2019 at the Hill Cemetery, Peacock Drive, Duffield, VA. Chris Stanley, Jeff Miller, Paul Goad, Larry Hardy, Randy Ketron, and Jamie Stanley will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be his Quebecor Co-workers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m., Friday to go in procession to the graveside service.
