Robert “Gerald” Snodgrass, 84, was born in Scott County, VA on May 24, 1935. He passed away on June 15, 2019 at 7:15 a.m. at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
Gerald was retired from Arcata Graphics in Kingsport, TN.
He was a veteran of the United States Army and very proud of the time he spent serving with the American Legion Color Guard Post #265 of Gate City, VA.
He loved fishing and spending time at this cabin.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Thomas Snodgrass; parents, Stuart and Ruby (Peters) Snodgrass; and brother, Gary “Buster” Peters.
Gerald is survived by his son, Steve Snodgrass and wife, Lisa, Church Hill, TN; daughter, Robin S. Hill and husband, Dickie, Kingsport, TN; grandchildren, Dustin Hill, Brooklyn NY, Whitney Johnson, Kingsport, TN, and Logan Snodgrass, Church Hill, TN; great grandchildren, , Parker and Kennedy Johnson, Kingsport, TN; brother, Bill Peters and wife, Pamela, Hiltons, VA; sisters, Carol Mullins and husband, Jack, Yuma, VA, Linda Price and husband, Mack, Yuma, VA, and Jean Collins, Johnson City, VA; along with several nieces and nephews.
Military graveside services will be conducted at the V.A. Mountain Home National Cemetery, Mountain Home, TN at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 19, 2019 by the Rev. Joe Hill and the American Legion Hammond Post #3, Kingsport, TN and Post #265, Gate City, VA.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at 12:45 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to American Legion Color Guard Post #265.
Family and friends are welcome to visit at the home of Steve and Lisa Snodgrass.
