Gay Snavely 75, Ft. Blackmore Virginia passed away November 27, 2018 after a lengthy illness. She was a life time resident of Scott County.
Gay was a homemaker who devoted her life to God and her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray; parents, Willie and Annie McDavid; five brothers, Bob, Bill, Ray Harold, Velmer, Roger Dale McDavid; sister, Wilma Grahm.
Her survivors include sons, Danny and Kathy, Rye Cove, and Jimmy of the home; daughter, Jeannie McDavid, Ft. Blackmore; grandsons, Joey Ramsey and wife Holly, Ft. Blackmore, and Scotty Ramsey and fiancé Cassie Day, Ft. Blackmore; step-grandchildren, Kevin Smith and Cindy Minton and husband Bill of Duffield; great-grandchildren, Jasper and Zoe Ramsey; step-great grandchildren, Lauren Hammond and husband Cody, Makenna Smith, and Molly Minton; step great-great-grandchildren, Eli, Teegan, and Tenley; sister, Helen Williams, Rye Cove; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m., Saturday December 1, 2018 in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the Gate City Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. at Pendleton’s Chapel Church with Rev. Kevin Sanders and Rev. Joe Hill officiating. Music will be provided by Chris Holder and Journey Home.
Burial will follow at Cowden Cemetery. Nephews will be serving as pallbearers. Garnie Snavely, Henry Kern, and Randy Hunter will serve as honorary pallbearers.
