Richard E. Smith, 60, Hiltons, VA passed away, Thursday, September 17, 2020 at his residence.
Richard was born in Sullivan County, TN on July 23, 1960 and was the son of Barbara Smith and the late Franklin Smith.
He was a loving husband, dad, and papaw; and known as the unofficial “mayor” of Hiltons. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed.
Surviving is his wife, Reba Smith, Hiltons, VA; son Brandon Smith and wife, Kendra, Nickelsville, VA; daughter, Crystal Smith and Josh Calhoun, Gate City, VA; grandchildren, Mia Calhoun, Waverly Calhoun, Elaina Smith, and Ensley Smith; mother, Barbara Smith, Gate City, VA; brothers, Wade Smith and wife, Linda, Hiltons, VA, Jeff Smith, Gate City, VA, and Rusty Smith, Gate City, VA; along with several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
It was the wish of Richard to be cremated.
The family will be receiving anyone wishing to visit at the residence. There will be no formal service.
