Marlon Ross Sloan, 63, Gate City, VA passed away, July 2, 2019 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
Marlon was born in Sullivan County, TN on August 12, 1955. He was the son of the late Conley C. and Amalie (Jones) Sloan.
He was retired from Eastman Chemical Company.
Surviving is his wife, Judy (Phillips) Sloan, Gate City, VA; daughters, Sherrie Miller and husband, Rob, Bluff City, TN; LeAnn Johnson and husband, Jon, Nickelsville, VA, and Marlena Clark and fiancé, Al Guy, Kingsport, TN; grandchildren, Dylon Clark, Brett Miller, Devon Clark, Colton Miller, Izayah Guy, Elijah Guy, and Raleigh and Raylon; step grandchildren, David Miller and Megan Miller; and a special cousin, Debbie Weems, Greenville, TN.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Saturday, July 6, 2019 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m., in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Frankie Holbrook, Jr. Eddie Holbrook, Jr., and Evangelist Kenneth Neeley officiating, Frankie Holbrook will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, July 7, 2019 at the Carter Cemetery on Kingdom Road, Duffield, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 12:15 p.m., Sunday to go in procession to the graveside service.
