Judy Phillips Sloan, 70, Gate City, VA passed away, July 10, 2019 at her residence.
Judy was born in Letcher County, KY on May 4, 1949. She was the daughter of the late Reamus and Geneva (Holbrook) Phillips.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband and love of her life, Marlon Ross Sloan on July 2, 2019; and brothers, Freddie Phillips and Stephen Phillips.
Judy is survived by her daughters, Sherrie Miller and husband, Rob, Piney Flats, TN; LeAnn Johnson and husband, Jon, Nickelsville, VA, and Marlena Clark and fiancé, Al Guy, Kingsport, TN; grandchildren, Dylon Clark, Brett Miller, Devon Clark, Colton Miller, Izayah Guy, Elijah Guy, and Raleigh and Raylon; step grandchildren, David Miller and Megan Miller; and sister, Rebecca Vaughn and husband, Michael, Gray, TN
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Friday, July 12, 2019 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m., in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Frankie Holbrook, Jr. and Eddie Holbrook, Jr. officiating. Frankie Holbrook, Jr. will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 13, 2019 at the Carter Cemetery on Kingdom Road, Duffield, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m., Saturday to go in procession to the graveside service.
The family wishes to give special thanks to her caregivers, Shelby and Andrea for their loving care of Judy.
