Amy L. Sloan, 28, Duffield, VA, our special little angel went home to be with Jesus
on Friday, June 22, 2007 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.

Born in Sullivan County, TN on October 22, 1978, the daughter of Norman Ray and
Cora Marcelene Sloan, she gave her heart to Jesus on August 4, 2006.

She loved gospel music and she loved to use the telephone as a means to request
prayer for others, making a "prayer chain".

Her paternal grandparents, Robert and Bonnie Sloan and maternal grandfather, Charlie
Carter preceded her in death.

Survivors include her parents, Norman and Cora Sloan, Duffield, VA, sister, Tammy
Crigger and husband, Jeff, Rogersville, TN, brother, Greg Sloan and wife, Lisa,
Church Hill, TN, her grandmother, Nina Carter, Duffield, VA, niece, Haley Sloan
and nephews, Zack Sloan and Jared Crigger.

The family will be receiving friends from 6-8 p.m., Monday, June 25, 2007 at the
Gate City Funeral Home and any time at the residence. Funeral services will be
conducted at 8:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with
the Rev. Wrightly Salling, the Rev. Gary Sloan and Evangelist Pat Hammonds officiating.
Jeff Crigger will provide the music.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 26, 2007 at the
Carter Family Cemetery, Clinchport, VA. Spencer Gilliam, Zack Sloan, Eddie Carter,
Wayne Carter, Brad Carter and Bruce McMillian will serve as pallbearers. James Carter,
Harold Raines, Clell Williams, Junior Stapleton, Bobby Sloan, Ronald Sloan and Larry
Gillenwater will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family will be meeting at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. to go in procession
to the graveside service.

The family wishes to convey special thanks to Dr. Alwani and Dr. Dena Smith, nurses,
Donna, Andrane and "singing" Linda Dingus and cleaning lady Robin Amberger and all
of the third floor ICU Step Down nurses, her special aunts, Brenda Gillenwater, Joan Stapleton and Wanda Williams and her special teacher,
Theresa Cape.
