Samuel Rhea “Buddee” Holliman- Mount Carmel, TN
Samuel Rhea “Buddee” Holliman, 69, Mount Carmel, TN, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, June 20, 2025.
Sam was born on March 14, 1956, in Kingsport, TN, and was the son of the late Earl Holliman, and Virgina Gillenwater.
Samuel graduated from Gate City High School in 1974 and received a BS in Engineering from Virginia Tech in 1978.
He loved reading, Bible studies, sky diving, art, and spending time with his wife, friends, and family. Sam loved people. He loved life and he loved serving with his church family.
In addition to his parents, his maternal grandparents, Rhea Gillenwater and Leila Ruth (McConnell) preceded him in death.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Tamera Holliman; daughter, Rebecca Holliman; son, Anthony Holliman; bonus son, Cory Godsey (Stefani); grandchildren, Gabe Smith and Leighton Godsey (his little buddee); and brother, Steve Holliman.
The family will receive friends from 5-7p.m., Monday, June 30, 2025, at Christian Life Center of the Tri-Cities. Services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m., with Pastor Jeremy Damesworth officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at the Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:45 a.m., for the graveside service.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
To aid with funeral expenses, the family asks that donations be made to Gate City Funeral Home.
