Betty (Ward) Safriet, 78, Gate City, VA. Entered into rest Sunday, November 13, 2022, at her Residence. A daughter of the Leslie W. and Elma Flanary Ward.
She was born in Scott County, VA on December 19, 1943, to the late Leslie and Elma Flanary Ward.
Betty graduated from Gate City High School in 1962.
In addition to her parents; her grandparents, Jeff and Martha Lane Flanary , William and Allie Fletcher Ward ; sister-in-law, Nancy Kinkead Ward; step-granddaughter, Hope Carter preceded her in death.
Betty put her faith in Christ as a young teen. His grace and faithfulness has been a constant rock throughout her life.
Betty had many varied jobs during her life, waitress at her parents restaurant, real estate agent, office manager to Executor of East Tennessee. She moved to Raleigh, NC in 1995 and began working later that year for IBM. Betty retired from IBM in June 2012. The most rewarding and important job she had was being a mother to her sons.
She is survived by her sons David M. Herron and wife, Barbara, Scott Herron and wife Kristi, Brother Danny Ward , niece Cathy Ward ; grandson, Shawn Herron and wife, Jackie; step-grandson, Wes Scarborough.
