Ruth Ann McConnell- Oldsmar, FL

Ruth Ann McConnell, 80, formerly of Nickelsville, VA, passed away August 28, 2026, in Oldsmar, Florida.

Ruth was born in Snowflake VA on April 13, 1946, and was the daughter of the late Anna Ruth (Burke).

Ruth Ann was a strong, country woman with a great love for her family, friends, animals, flowers, and the outdoors. She was a remarkable caregiver to many of her family members and friends.

In addition to her mother, her grandmother, Nannie Kilgore; sister, Thelma Harrison; brother, John Burke; and stepfather, Mack Reed preceded her in death.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Marcos DeMoura; brother, Glenn Burke and wife, Barbara; grandchildren, Cody McConnell, Brian Horton and wife, Hannah, and Gabi DeMoura; nieces and nephews, Richard Harrison, Bobby Harrison and wife, Andrea, Tonya Burke, Tina (Burke) Sparling, Christina, Allen Burke, and Joshua Burke; and fur baby, Bella.

The family will receive friends from 1-2p.m., Sunday, September 6, 2026, at the Gate City Funeral Home. Services will be conducted at 2:00p.m., in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Gary Luce officiating.

Graveside services will follow at the Lawson Confederate Cemetery, Gate City, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
