Ronald Alfonso Townsend

Ronald A. Townsend, age 82 of Duffield, VA, passed away on February 16, 2023, at his home.  He was born in Naples, FL and lived there for most of his life, having moved to Virginia about 10 years ago.  He was a true outdoors-man, having a passion for hunting, fishing and gardening. He was a kind, passionate man and a great friend to everyone he met.

He served in the Army in Korea and Colorado after which he used the electrical training, he gained in the military to work as an electrician.  Following his military service he worked with his father in his wholesale produce business and later managed a family-owned restaurant in Naples.

He was predeceased by his father Elvin A. Townsend and his mother Ruth Pollock Townsend who lived in Naples.  He is survived by daughter, Andrea Ayers (Jodi); son, Arthur Ayers (Annie); grandchildren, Haley, Austin, Jennifer and Kayla, 2 great-grandchildren; brother, Grady M. Townsend (Dede); nephew, Mark Townsend (Shelly); niece, Michelle Townsend Thompson (Paul); and many great nephews and great nieces.
