Robert Boyd Lewis, 96, Gate City, VA passed away on August 15, 2025, at the Nova Health and Rehab Center, Weber City, VA.

Born in Wise County, VA on April 28, 1929, to the late Boyd and Rebecca Tuner Lewis.

In addition to his parents; his first wife, Mary Alice Lewis; second wife, Joan Nickels Lewis; daughter, Carol Elaine Buchanan; sisters, Carmel Robinette, June Kleineick, Betty Shady and Margaret Lewis; brothers, James and Jack Lewis preceded him in death.

Robert is survived by his son, Dennis Boyd Lewis and wife, Patsy; grandchildren, Cristy Lewis, Brad Lewis and wife, Allison, Mindy Carroll and husband, Josh; great grandchildren, Elijah and Reed Lewis, Jesse Carroll; along with several nieces and nephews.

The Family will receive friends from 5-7 pm, Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at Holston View United Methodist Church, services will be conducted at 7:00 pm in the Chapel of the church, with Rev Chuck Griffin officiating.

Military Graveside Service will be conducted on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at 11:00 am at the Holston View Cemetery in Weber City conducted by the American Legion Hammond Post #3, Kingsport, TN and Post 265 Gate City, VA assisted by members of the Virginia National Army Guard Funeral Honors Team. Brad Lewis, Elijah Lewis, Reed Lewis, Gary Houser, Mike Gilliam, Josh Carroll and Mike Hensey will serve as pallbearers. Bill Pendeton and Jesse Carroll will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:15 am to go in procession to the graveside service.
