Alvin Lynn Quillen

January 16, 1954 — December 6, 2019

Alvin Lynn Quillen, 65, born January 16, 1954 went to his eternal home in heaven on December 6, 2019 after a lengthy illness.
Lynn was a 1970 graduate of Ketron High School and went to Tri-Cities State Technical School. He was a foreman for Fluor Daniels and retired early from Brock while working in the machine shop at Eastman.
He was a simple man that enjoyed life on the farm, hunting, fishing, or taking the backroads in his Jeep. He was known for his big smile and keen sense of humor. Time with the grandkids on the farm provided many memories for them to cherish. They were the apple of his eye.
Lynn is preceded in death by his mother and father Alvin and Helen Quillen and his brother Roger Quillen.
Surviving are his devoted and loving wife Millie Quillen, of the home; daughters, Amanda (Ryan) Brooks, Tanya (Jimmy) Hall; son, Cody (Sasha) Williams; three grandsons, Dylan, Camden Lynn, Cooper Reid; one granddaughter, Madisyn Brooks; one sister, Susan (Wayne) Pressley; several cousins, aunts and uncles who he loved dearly.
Lynn knew the Lord as his Christ and Savior. He was saved and baptized at Cedar Grove Church in Robinette Valley.
The family will receive friends on Monday, December 9, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Gate City Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel with the Rev. George Lane and Rev. Elser Bailey officiating. Music will be provided by the Gateway Quartet.
The graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at Holston View Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:30 a.m. to go in procession to the cemetery.
Millie would like to thank Nova Healthcare and Caris Hospice who made Lynn feel special.
She would also like to send special thanks to Tony Quillen, Doug Gillenwater, and David Quillen, for all their help. Lynn loved these cousins like brothers.
