A very special angel took Pastor Luther Presley, 77, Home, Friday, June 15, 2018.
Luther was born in Hancock County, TN on March 25, 1941 to the late Martin Luther and Julie Mae (Johnson) Presley.
He is Home where he is suffering no more. He was such a kind and Godly man, always loving and thinking of others. He was so loved by his family, his church family, and his friends and will be greatly missed.
Luther had pastored many churches in Virginia, and was currently the Pastor of Lynn Garden Chapel, Kingsport, TN.
In addition to his parents, his daughter, Wilma Presley Cox (2016); sister, Mary Jane Horton; brothers, Carl and Harrison Presley; his father and mother-in-law, Shealy and Bonnie Casteel; and sister-in-law, Louella Casteel preceded him in death.
Surviving is his loving wife of 57 years, Edith Casteel Presley, Kingsport, TN; son, Howard Presley and wife, Lisa; grandchildren, Lukas, Daniel, and Julia; step grandchildren, Joshua, Corey, and Jocelyn; his nieces, whom he loved very much, Nancy, Mae, Linda, Robin, Wanda, and Punch; and his wonderful caregivers, Amanda Hill, Sue Christian, and Stacy Galloway.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Monday, June 18, 2018 at the Gate City Funeral Home and other times at the residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Brother Lee Knowles officiating. True Faith Quartet will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at the Snapp Cemetery, Hancock, TN. James Presley, Nay Presley, David Presley, Ken Presley, Jamie Edwards, J.J. Hamilton, L.V. Albright, and Ed Presley will serve as pallbearers. Bill Robinson, Jack McNutt, J.B. Hughes, Jerry Poore, and all of his Preacher friends he loved with all of his heart will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday to go in procession to the graveside service.
