Kathleen “Cat” Osborne, 90. Dungannon, VA passed away, Monday, March 18, 2019 at NOVA Health and Rehab, Weber City, VA.
Cat was born in Scott County, VA on May 17, 1928 and was the daughter of the late Emmitt and Nancy “Nannie” (Owens) Akers.
She lived her life in Dungannon, VA, where she raised nine children with her husband, Lloyd George Osborne. She was a loving, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend.
In addition to her parents, her husband, Lloyd George Osborne; daughter, Bessie Osborne; sons, Lemul Osborne and Patrick Jackson “P.J” Osborne; grandsons, Lewis Musick, Robert Hillman, Michael Tipton, and Lance Wheatley preceded her in death.
Surviving are her daughters, Eunice Wheatley, Morristown, TN Nina Begley, Dungannon, VA, Barbara Musick, Morristown, TN, Kitty Childress, Mt. Carmel, TN, and Debbie Rogers, Rome, OH; son, Auburn Osborne, Dungannon, VA; 25 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; brother, Jimmy McArthur Akers, Gate City, VA; along with several nieces, nephews, friends, and her NOVA family.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at the Gate City Funeral Home and other times at the residence of her daughter, Nina Begley. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Larry Beavers officiating. Chris Holder and Journey Home will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 21, 2019 at the Osborne Corder Cemetery on Logger Road, Dungannon, VA. Grandsons and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the graveside service.
