Ollie Mae Darnell, 74, Hiltons, VA, passed away Thursday, December 18, 2025, at the Nova Health and Rehab Center.

Ollie was born on February 23, 1951, in Kingsport, TN, and was the daughter of the late Hady Walter and Dorothy Ruth (Smith) Gibson.

In addition to her parents; her special grandson, Andrew Darnell; sisters, Judy Gillenwater and Phyllis Smith; brothers, Danny Gibson and Banner Gibson preceded her in death.

She is survived by her husband, Teddy Ray Darnell; daughters, Elizabeth Owens (Travis), Laura Darnell (Jimmy); sons, David Allen Berry (Tina); sisters, Louise Gibson; brothers, Carlos Gibson (Phyllis), George Gibson; grandchildren, Jacob Darnell, Samuel Darnell, Joshua Lee Scalf (Kim), Jonathan Darnell (Courtney), Katie Bledsoe (Kaden), Kayla Berry; great grandchildren, Cody Scalf, Ethan Scalf, Madison Scalf, Ellie Drew Darnell, and T.J. Larkins; special friends, Lina Mills, along with several nieces, nephews and special church friends.

The family will receive friends from 11-1p.m., Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at the Gate City Funeral Home. Services will be conducted at 1:00p.m., Tuesday, December 23, 2025, in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Jimmy Darnell and Rev. William Berry officiating. Laura Darnell, David Berry and Joshua Scalf will provide the music.

Graveside services will follow at the Ponderosa Cemetery, Gate City, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
