Noah Thomas Sluss- Dungannon, VA

Noah Thomas Sluss, 86, Dungannon, VA, passed away peacefully, Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Holston Valley Medical Center. A devoted husband, Noah, shared 62 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Carol, building a life rooted in love, faith, and service. He was a dedicated member of Stoney Creek Fellowship Church and proudly served as a lifelong member of the Scott County Life Saving Crew, committing countless hours to helping others in their time of need.

Noah was born in Dungannon VA, on June 11, 1939, and was the son of the late Wilson Lilburn Sluss and Grace (Dooley) Sluss.

In addition to his parents, his sisters, Jean Lane, Alice Baldridge, Doris Ashworth, Lucy Bell Sluss; an infant brother, Lester Sluss; and a fur companion, Yo-Yo preceded him in death.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 62 years, Carol Sluss; sons, Randy Sluss, Gate City, VA, Robert Sluss, Kingsport, TN, Tom Sluss, (Lori), Dungannon, VA; daughter, Susan Hillman (Johnny),Ft. Blackmore, VA; sisters, Willodean Osborne (Bill), and Bonnie Braham (Danny); grandchildren, Ashli Sluss, Brandon Sluss, Tiffany Gilreath (Trevor), Thomas Sluss (Courtney), Michael Sluss, Tyler Hillman (Carlysle), Avery Hillman (Gabby), and Ethan Hillman (Abby); great grandchildren, Raelynn Edds, Aiden Bise, Miracle Gilreath, Addison Sluss, Emma and Noah Hillman; special cousin, Catherine (Dooley) Dickenson; special friends, Ray and Judy Blevins; special dog, Lucky, (who is missing him already); and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5-7p.m., Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at the Gate City Funeral Home. Services will be conducted at 7:00p.m., in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Scott Castle officiating. Travis and Robin Stapleton and Diane Dorton will provide the music.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00p.m., Thursday, September 18, 2025, at the Sluss-Baldwin Cemetery, Dungannon, VA. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 12:15p.m., to go in procession to the graveside service.

Brandon Sluss, Thomas Sluss, Michael Sluss, Tyler Hillman, Avery Hillman, Ethan Hillman, Trevor Gilreath, and Heath Hillman will serve as pallbearers. Ashli Sluss and Tiffany Gilreath will serve as honorary pallbearers.
