Michael Vincent “Mikey” Mullins, Duffield, VA
Michael “Mikey” Mullins, 47, of Duffield, VA passed away on Friday, June 21, 2019 at The University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, KY.
He was born in Sullivan county, TN on January 15, 1972 to Toy and Anita (Bowen) Mullins.
He was preceded in death by his Paternal Grandparents, Toy and Irene Mullins and his Maternal Grandparents, Ray and Eva Mae Bowen.
Michael loved life, loved people, and especially loved spending time with his family and friends. He was also an avid fan of Star Wars.
Michael leaves behind to cherish his memory; his parents, Toy Vincent and Anita Carol (Bowen) Mullins, Duffield, VA; sister Tammy Meade and husband Andy, Duffield, VA; Cousin (Sister) Heather Ramey, Gray, TN; Nieces/Nephews, Latoya Meade, Gray, TN, Koty Meade, Duffield, VA, and Landon Vaughn, Gray, TN; Special friends, Autumn Spencer and Ronnie Mason; along with several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 from 5:00-7:00 p.m., at Gate City Funeral Home. The family will also be receiving friends at the home of Michael’s parents, 1737 Cliff Mountain Way, Duffield, VA 24244. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Mike Gilliam officiating. Music will be provided by Chris Holder and Journey Home.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at the Bowen Family Cemetery on Cliff Mountain in Duffield, VA. Pallbearers will be Greg Mullins, Ronnie Mason, Hunter Bishop, Eddie Bishop, Edward Bowen, and Curtis Page. Honorary Pallbearers will be Koty Meade, Landon Vaughn, Caden Bishop and Jeff Sloan.
Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home by 12:00 p.m. to go in procession to the cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to made to Gate City Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses.
