Maureen Ann "Susie" Mullins (Howington)

Maureen ‘Susie’ Ann Mullins, 65, of Gate City, VA passed away unexpectedly Thursday April 23, 2020 at her residence.
Susie was born in Nickelsville, VA on September 18, 1954 to the late Maynard and Ivy Howington. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister Mary Taylor.
Susie was an over the road truck driver for 15 years. Throughout her years of driving, she had been to 48 states, Mexico and Canada. She seen some of the most beautiful places in the country. After having to retire from driving, she became a homemaker where she had an enormous passion for flower gardening. She could make anything come to life and grow. She also enjoyed making candy; everybody loved Susie’s fudge.
She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Ray Mullins; daughters, Tracie Berry, Samantha and husband Glenn Farra; sons, Travis and wife Amanda Reed, Shane and wife Lori Cook; brothers Maynard M. Howington, James and wife Christina Howington; sisters, Rosalie Robinson, Shirley Anglin; 9 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank everyone for the condolences and prayers.
It was Susie’s wish to be cremated. A private ceremony will be held at a later date.
