Dorothy Ann (Edwards) Morton, Dot, 68, returned to her heavenly home Tuesday October 8, 2019 after a short battle with pancreatic cancer.
She was born on June 16, 1951 in Phillipsburg, NJ. Her family move to Bristol, TN February 1989. Where she met the love of her life and best friend, Charles Jeffery Morton. The two love birds married March 29, 1992.
Dot was blessed with a large loving family and many close friends. Loved ones that cleared the path for Dorothy are her parents Wallace and Anna (Gruhler) Edwards, her son Michael Shane Burd, the love of her life Charles Jeffery Morton, and grandson Evan Burd. Loved ones that will miss Dorothy are her daughter, Annamarie Poole and Michael Vaughn, Gate City, VA and son, Lewis Burd and wife, Pam, Phillipsburg, NJ; Many Grandchildren, Haylie, Hannah, and Holleymadison Burd, Michael Burd and wife, Miracle, Mandy Burd, Jonae Poole and fiance, Travis Presley, and Dillion Poole; and great grandchildren, Mckenzie, Alyssa, Josiah, Kaleb Matthew Burd, and her sweet peas, Heavenly and Teagan Jade; and the father of her children, Lewis Elmer Burd Jr. and Lois Rogers, Rogersville, TN; and daughter-in-law, Sheryl Burd, Duffield, VA. Close friends that are as close as family; Mark and Kathy McDavid and children, also, Lewis and Robbin Christein and children.
It was the wish of Mrs. Morton to be cremated. No formal services are scheduled at this time.
A memorial service will be scheduled by the family at a later date and updated at that time.
