In Loving Memory of Mildred "Kay" Hall
Mildred "Kay" Hall, born May 22, 1938, in the gentle landscapes of Sullivan County, Tennessee, completed her earthly journey on October 15, 2026, surrounded by her beloved family. Her departure marks the end of a remarkable chapter, rich with love, laughter, and unwavering faith.
Kay was the cherished daughter of Rader Earnest and Ruth Seymore Benton, who instilled in her the values of compassion and resilience. She is now reunited with her parents, her devoted husband Robert Lee Hall, and her loving children Sandra Lee Hall, Martha Ann Hall, Lisa Kay Hall, and Michael Andrew Hall. Her sister, Dorothy Ann Meade, also predeceases her, leaving behind cherished memories.
Surviving Kay is her daughter, Kimberly Lynn Hall. Her brother, Jimmy Monroe Benton, nephews Eric and Jason Benton, and her treasured grandchildren—Susan Leeann Brooks (alongside her husband, Brian), James Samuel Quillen (with his wife and her caregiver, Chesna), Sara Beth Sluss, and Hunter Lee Hall—continue to honor her memory. Her great-grandchildren, Aiden and Alysse Quillen, Garrisson, Ira, Nora, and AdaLee Sluss, Morgan, and Josie Hall, were the jewels of her heart, bringing her immense joy and pride.
Kay embraced the role of a caregiver throughout her life, dedicating herself as a CNA and private-duty caregiver. Her career extended well into her 80s, a testament to her boundless love for serving others. Her patients and residents were fortunate to experience her kindness and compassion, which she offered with a genuine smile and a comforting presence.
A devoted member of Grace Christian Church, Kay's faith was the cornerstone of her life. Her friendships were a source of joy, and she never missed an opportunity to gather with friends and former co-workers. Her heart was open, welcoming all with warmth and sincerity—she truly never knew a stranger. Kay's life was adorned with simple pleasures and profound joys. Whether watching Charles Stanley and Fox News, shopping thoughtfully for gifts for her family, or spending precious moments with her great-grandchildren, she embraced each day with zest and gratitude. Her humor, sass, and candid opinions were a delight to all who knew her, and she bore life's challenges with grace and resilience.
A celebration of Kay's life will be held on October 30, 2026, at 6:00 PM at Grace Christian Church, 1713 East Sevier Ave, Kingsport, TN 37664.
The family extends their gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this time. As we bid farewell to this remarkable woman, we hold onto the comfort of Psalm 116:7-9: "Return to your rest, O my soul, For the Lord has dealt bountifully with you. For You have delivered my soul from death, My eyes from tears, and my feet from falling. I will walk before the Lord in the land of the living."
Kay's legacy of love, faith, and kindness will forever inspire those she leaves behind. Her spirit will continue to shine brightly through the lives she touched and the love she so freely gave.
