Michael Lee Sanders, Jr., 49, Fort Blackmore, VA, passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at his residence.

Michael was born on October 28, 1976, in Sullivan County, TN, and was the son of Michael Lee Sanders, Sr., and the late Donna Marie (Dean) Sanders.

Preceding him in death are his mother, Donna Marie (Dean) Sanders, and his grandparents, McCoy and Pearl Sanders, and Herman and Bertha Dean.

Left to cherish his memory are his dad, his very best friend and caregiver, Michael Lee Sanders, Sr.; sons, Dylan Sanders, Michael Porter (MJ); stepsons, Gavin and Devin Hall; sister, Robin (Sis) Sanders; niece, Kayla Vaughn; nephew, Dustin Porter; great nieces, Emily Vaughn, Kinley Vaughn, and Haley (Curly Sue) Porter; great nephews, Matthew Vaughn and Hunter Lane; and special friends, Marvin Egan and James McConnell.

The family will receive friends from 5-8p.m., Saturday, December 20, 2025, at the Gate City Funeral Home.

Services will be conducted at 1:00p.m., Sunday, December 21, 2025, in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Marvin Egan, Rev. Jerry Begley, and Rev. Kevin Vincent officiating. Pine Grove Harmony will provide the music.

Graveside services will follow at the Gillenwater Cemetery, Ft. Blackmore, VA. Jason Kimbler, Kelvin Kimbler, Dawson Mann, Dustin Porter, and Dylan Sanders will serve as pallbearers. Dan Burke, Larry Hommel, Kevin Perry, David Parker, and Brandon Ramsey 0will serve as honorary pallbearers.
