Larry Edward McNew, 73, Duffield, VA passed away, Monday, March 15, 2021 at the V.A. Medical Center, Mountain Home, TN.
Larry was born in Sullivan County, TN on March 26, 1947 and was the son of the late Robert Junior and Mary Elizabeth (Stanley) McNew.
Larry was a veteran of the United States Army and an Engineer with E, J, and E Railroad.
In addition to his parents, his wife, Janie McNew preceded him in death.
Surviving are his daughters, Rebecca Lynn McNew, Brenda Lee Powell, and Laura Beth McNew; grandsons, Jonathan Alex McNew, Nathaniel Scott McNew, Landon Cole McNew, and Elijah Daniel McNew; brothers, Bobby McNew and wife, Vanie and Gary McNew and wife, Pam; along with several nieces and nephews.
A drop by viewing will begin at 12:30 p.m., Saturday, March 20, 2021 at the Gate City Funeral Home.
Military graveside services will be conducted by the American Legion Hammond Post #3., Kingsport, TN and Post #254, Gate City, VA assisted by members of the Virginia Army National Guard Honors Team at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, March 20, 2021 at the Meredith Cemetery, Duffield, VA.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
