Mary Jaunita Sexton- Ft. Blackmore, VA

Mary Juanita Sexton, 83, Ft. Blackmore, VA, passed away, November 3, 2024, at the residence of her daughter, Virginia.

Mary was born in Scott County, VA on August 7, 1941, to the late Thurman Castle and Eliza (Gibson) Castle.

She was a member of Ft. Blackmore Holiness/ Harvesttime Worship Center.

In addition to her parents, her husband, Homer Hascue Sexton; sisters, Margie Bishop, Willie Sexton, Bernice Quillen, and Joann Sexton preceded her in death.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters Wilma Jennings, Gate City, VA, Mellisa (James) Winebarger, Hilton, VA, Teresa (Sidney) Hensley, Ft. Blackmore, VA, and Virginia (David) Egan, Ft. Blackmore, VA; brother-in-law, Allen (Kathy) Sexton, Ringo, GA; grandchildren, Necole (Bill) Short, Kingsport, TN, Candance Williams, Gate City, VA, Brian (Myranda) Jennings, Gate City, VA; great grandchildren, Emily and Brittany Williams, Gate City, VA, Chevy and Autumn Jennings, Gate City, VA; special friends, Victor and Loriene Finch; several step grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5-7p.m., Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at the Gate City Funeral Home. Services will be conducted at 7:00p.m., in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Rick Quillen officiating. David and Debbie Easterling and Toke Hensley will provide the music.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00a.m., at the Cox Cemetery, Ft. Blackmore, VA. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:00a.m., to go in procession to the graveside service.

Josh Williams, Freddie Carter, Jack Hensley, and family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
