Margaret Ann McMurray, 83, Hiltons, VA passed away, Friday, June 7, 2024, at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.

Margaret was born in Lebanon, VA on November 11, 1940, and was the daughter of the late Woodrow and Elizabeth (Miller) Fields.

Margaret was a member of Gardner’s Chapel Baptist Church and attended The Old Chestnut Flat Primitive Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, her first husband, Edward Grigsby, daughter, Peggy Grigsby, an infant sister, and brothers, Roger and Wilson Fields , preceded her in death.

She is survived by her husband, Russell McMurray, Hiltons, VA, daughters, Ann Grizzle and husband, Don, Bristol, VA, Teena Creger and Sammy, Saltville, VA, and Kaye Trejo and husband, Tony, Gate City, VA, son, Rocky Grigsby, Waverly, VA, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren, stepchildren, Connie Lindley, Mountain City, TN, Noah McMurray and wife, Lori, Kingsport, TN, Angie Summers and husband, Don, Kingsport, TN, Judy Duncan, Hiltons, VA, and Ronald McMurray, Greeneville, TN, sisters, Nell Mullins and James, Kingsport, TN, Francis Davis, NC, sisters-in-law, Peggy Robinson, Kingsport, TN, Reba Muriel Matthews, Blountville, TN, Betty McNutt and husband, Phillip, Kingsport, TN, and Opal McMurray, Rogersville, TN, brother-in-law, Donnie and Brenda McMurray, Hiltons, VA, along with several nieces and nephews, and her fur baby, Shag.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Monday, June 10, 2024, at the Gate City Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at The Old Chestnut Flat Primitive Baptist Church, Hiltons, VA with Rev. Rex McMurray, Rev. Bob Simpson, and Pastor Josh Johnson. The Log Church Singers will provide the music.

Burial will follow the services at the Godsey Cemetery, Eaton Hill Road, Hiltons, VA.

Donnie McMurray, Terry McMurray, Sammy Creger, Michael Caudill, and Charlie Grigsby will serve as pallbearers.
