Marcella (Lane) Fleming – Kingsport, TN

Marcella (Lane) Fleming, age 83, Kingsport, Tennessee, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 18, 2026.

Marcella was born in Scott County, VA on May 24, 1942, to the late Carr and Maysie (Lane) Hood.

In addition to her parents; her infant brother, Carr Hood, Jr.; brothers, Mac David Hood and wife, Patricia, and Hubert Hood and wife, Betty; sister-in-law, Loretta Hood; and 3rd husband, Joe Fleming, 2nd husband, Tom Thacker and 1st husband, James Nathan Powers, Sr. preceded her in death.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, James Powers,Jr.; brothers, Earl Hood and wife, Lois of Gate City, VA and I.J. Hood of Duffield, VA; sisters, Jewell Amos and husband, Carl of Kingsport, TN, Doris Gilliam and husband, Larry of Kingsport, TN, and Tammy Davidson and husband, Dewayne of Durham, NC; along with several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Monday, March 23, 2026, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of Gate City Funeral Home with Evangelist Garry Hood officiating. The Hood Family will provide the music.

Graveside services will follow the service at the Oak Hill Memorial Park in Kingsport, Tennessee.
