Linda Gay Barr, Kingsport, TN, passed away Friday, May 16, 2025, at Orchard View Post-Acute and Rehabilitation Center.

Linda was born on August 20, 1949, in Sullivan County, TN, to the late Hugh and Ethel Castle.

In addition to her parents, her brother, Jr. Castle; sister, Sallie Castle; husband, Joe Barr; and son, Jason Barr preceded her in death.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Mary Dockery (Tony), Dungannon, VA; grandchildren, Vanessa (James) McConnell, Nickelsville, Dustin Dockery, Dungannon, VA, Timothy Barr, Boone, NC; great grandchildren, Kacie McConnell, and James Robert McConnell, Jr.; sister, Mary (Darrel) Verbal; brother, James Castle; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5-7p.m., Monday, May 19, 2025, at the Gate City Funeral Home. Services will be conducted at 7:00p.m., in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Beavers officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted at 12:00p.m., Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery, Blountville, TN. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 11:00a.m., to go in procession to the graveside service.

Dustin Dockery, Tony Dockery, James McConnell, and Jason Dockery will serve as pallbearers.

The family would like to extend to the staff at Orchard View and Ballad Health Hospice Care for their love and care of Linda.
