Naomi Irene Lane (McConnell)

March 25, 1922 — August 3, 2019

Naomi McConnell Lane, 97, passed away peacefully at Steadman Hills Assisted Living on August 3, 2019.

A homemaker, Naomi was an excellent cook and an avid flower gardener.

Naomi was an active member of Gate City United Methodist Church until she moved to Steadman Hills, where she lived until her passing.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, Edward Stewart Lane, Sr. She was also predeceased by her son, Freddie Richard Lane, granddaughter, Melissa Lane Ward and all 8 of her brothers and sisters.

Naomi is survived by her son, Edward Stewart Lane, Jr and wife, June, Sterling, VA, daughter, Pamela Lane Johnson and husband, Dewey, Houston, TX and daughter-in law, Bonnie Brodeur Lane, Minneapolis, MN. She is also survived by her five grandchildren whom she adored: Drew Wadsworth Price-Johnson and wife, Keli, Oakland, CA, Ian Stewart Johnson and wife, Katie, Nashville, TN, Jennifer Lane Perry and husband, Will, Angela Renee Lane and Rachel Irene Lane, all from Minneapolis, MN. She is also survived by three great grandchildren, Brodeur Joseph Hearn, Schaefer Ray Hearn, and Emerson Ann Hearn all from Minneapolis, MN.

The family would like to thank the phenomenal staff at Steadman Hill Assisted Living. Their loving care for Mom was second to none.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 11, 2019, from 12:00 p.m. 1:00 p.m. at Gate City United Church. Naomi’s funeral service will immediately follow.

In lieu of flowers, Naomi asked that donations be made to Gate City United Methodist Church.
