Ella Lane Duffield, VA ? Ella Wallen Lane, 89, entered into rest Sunday, August 19, 2007 at the Brian Center Health and Rehabilitation, Weber City, VA. She was born in Scott County, VA in June 21, 1918 to the late Charlie Wallen and Etta Hill. Including her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Fred Lane, 1991; daughter, Mary Fred Jones; sister, Nannie Carter; brothers, Talmadge and Clarence Wallen and son-in-law, Rev. Ray Roach. She was of the Baptist faith and attended the Brick church in the Rye Cove Community. Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Anna Ruth Duncan, Gate City, VA, Barbara and Paul Cavin, Kingsport, TN, Shirley Roach, Duffield, VA; son and daughter-in-law, L.C. and Joyce Lane, Duffield, VA; brothers, Junior Wallen, Duffield, VA and Ralph Wallen, Kingsport, TN; 19 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren and one due in January; Several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, August 22, 2007 at Gate City Funeral Home. Services will be at 8 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Jerry Hickman and Rev. Bill Tignor officiating. Music will be provided by Phillip Free and the Ferrymen. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 23, 2007 at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
