Maude Ethel Smith Jones, 92, Gate City/Duffield, VA, passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at the Holston Manor Nursing Home, Kingsport, TN.
She was born in Clinchport, VA on April 15, 1927 to the late Oliver and Maudella Tomlinson Smith.
In addition to her parents; her husband, Leonard Jones, and her sister, Reba McConnell preceded her in death.
She was married to Leonard Jones on September 10, 1945. She attended Purchase Ridge Church.
She is survived by two sons, Larry E. Jones (Diana), Gate City, VA and Randall Jones (Ann), Kingsport, TN; 2 grandchildren, Brandy Nothnagel (David), Kingsport, TN, David Jones (Liz), Kingsport, TN; 4 great-grandchildren, Olivia Nothnagel, Ava Nothnagel, Annelise Jones, and Silas Jones; along with 2 nieces.
The family will receive friends from 5:00p.m.-7:00p.m., Friday, September 20, 2019 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00p.m., in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Evangelist Garry Hood and Rev. Charles Rhoton officiating. Way of the Cross will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 10:00a.m., Saturday, September 21, 2019 the O.W. Smith Cemetery on Kingdom Road, Duffield, VA. Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 9:00 a.m. to go in procession to the graveside service.
The family would like to thank the entire staff of Holston Manor for their excellent care.
