Floyd Andrew Johnson – Lebanon, VA.

Floyd Andrew Johnson 87, of Lebanon, VA passed away unexpectedly February 23, 2020 at the Holston Valley Medical Center.

Floyd was a graduate of Lebanon High School and retired from the Eastman. He enjoyed farming and working with cattle as long as his health allowed. His greatest moments were spent with his grandchildren, they were his pride and joy, he often said that being a papaw was his greatest blessing. He attended Free Hill Baptist Church.

Floyd was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He loved his family and friend and always encouraged them to put God first in their lives.

His parents Carson and Nellie (Fugate) Johnson preceded him in death.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 51 years, Danah Ruth (Cassell) Johnson; daughter, Kathy McAmis and husband, Jeff, Lebanon, VA; grandchildren, Hannah McAmis, Austin McAmis and fiancée, Brittany, Addy Grace McAmis; great-grandsons, Samuel McAmis and Avery McAmis; sister, Evelyn Sue Allgood and husband, Don, Lebanon, VA; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 5:00p.m.-7:00p.m., Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Larry Beavers, Rev. Carlos Wolfe and Rev. Chris Musick officiating. A eulogy will be given by his granddaughter, Hannah McAmis. Southern Revival will provide the music.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00a.m., Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at the Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Austin McAmis, Bobby Johnson, David Phillips, Daniel Brommer, Brian Hartsock and Eddie Strong will serve as pallbearers. Don Allgood, Owen Allgood, Jimmy Webb, Junior Cassell and Andrew Hartsock will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Family and Friends are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:30a.m. to go in procession to the graveside service.

The family would like to thank Dr. Gregory DeMotts and his staff for the care they provided over the years.
