Johnnie Lonzo Musick- Gate City, VA

Johnnie Lonzo Musick, Gate City, VA, 83, passed away at home Wednesday, May 21, 2025.

He was born on March 10, 1942, in Scott County, VA, and was the son of the late Garvie and Annie Blair Musick.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Jearlene Musick, Irene Shaffer, Edith Musick, Wanda Spears and Betty Flanary, and his brother Herschel Musick.

Johnnie is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Darenda; his children Vicki Davis and her husband Roger, Vonda Potter and her husband Bradd; His grandchildren, whom he loved dearly, Taylor Davis and Chase Davis, Cassity Potter Jenkins (Jordan), Brody Potter, Maggie Potter Day (Connor) and Lexie Potter. Beautiful great- granddaughters, Rowan, Róis and Rhys Jenkins; sisters Mildred McConnell (Bill), Carolyn Maddux and Nina Brickey (Warner) and brothers Edisol (Edna) and Willie Mack (LaWanda).

Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00p.m., Saturday, May 24, 2025, at the Strong Cemetery, Gate City, VA, with Pastor Vernon McDavid officiating. The Potter’s will provide the music. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 1:15p.m., to go in procession to the graveside service.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
