Lonnie David Jenkins – Gate City, VA
It is with a heavy heart that his wife, Lenise Jenkins announces the passing of her husband of 46 years, her soul mate, and love of her life, Lonnie David Jenkins.
He entered into the loving arms of Jesus on Saturday, May 9, 2020 at their home.
Lonnie was a devoted, loving husband with a heart of gold, so much patience, and was able to forgive so easily.
He will be missed by all who got to know him in his lifetime.
He was retired from the Kingsport Press/Quebecor, and veteran of the United States Army serving in the Vietnam War.
In addition to his parents, Carlos and Virgie (Williams) Jenkins; his brother, John Jenkins preceded him in death.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife; his furry companions, Buster and Sadie; sister, Sharon Meade; brothers, Ronnie and Gary Jenkins; his brothers-in-law, Danny and Eddie Clendenin, who he loved and was very close to; his aunt Joyce, who he was so fond of; along with several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at the Sloantown Cemetery with Rev. Rick Begley officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
