Vicki Fletcher Jarnagin, 47, Nickelsville, VA was born December 27, 1972 in Kingsport, TN departed this life for her Heavenly Home on Sunday, February 2, 2020 after winning her battle with breast cancer.
She was a 1990 graduate of Rye Cove High School and earned a B.S. in Nursing from Carson-Newman College. She had multiple positions during her career as a nurse at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center. Most recently she served as a Manager of Infection Prevention. Vicki was a member of Free Hill Baptist Church, where she served as an Adult Sunday School teacher. She was saved at an early age.
She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Bailey and Velvie Fletcher.
Surviving are her parents, Darrell and Jeanette Fletcher, Nickelsville, VA; grandmother, Margaret Meade, Lebanon, VA; her children, Micah Bowen and wife, Adrienne, Calhoun, GA, Michala Johnson and husband, Charles, Nickelsville, VA, and Dean Jarnagin, of the home, her sister, Diane Glenn and husband, John, Yadkinville, NC; brother, Brent Fletcher and wife, Kelly, Nickelsville, VA; her three grandchildren, who were the light of her life, Judson and Harper Bowen, and Hazel Johnson. She also leaves behind several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at the Gate City Funeral Home, and other time at the residence of Vicki’s parents. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Chris Musick officiating. Todd Meade will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 6, 2020 at the Free Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Nickelsville, VA. Dalton Horton, Ethan Reed, Michael Pearcy, Charles Quillen, Tucker Quillen, and Aaron Buchanan will serve as pallbearers. Members of the Free Hill Baptist Church Adult Sunday School class will serve as honorary pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Patient Assistance Fund at Ballad Health Cancer Center.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m., Thursday to go in procession to the graveside service.
