He was born November 5, 1941 in Humboldt, Iowa to the late Henry Janssen and Lena Janssen.
Survivors include his wife, Angel B. Janssen, Gate City, VA; daughter and son-in-law, Crystal and Winston Blazer, Knoxville, TN; sons and daughters-in-law, Bob and Anita Janssen, Rush City, MN, Karl and Mona Janssen, Lancaster, KY, Randy and Brittany Tomlinson, Gate City, VA and Michael Powers, Knoxville, TN; sister, Dorothy Williams, Dakota City, IA; brother, Dennis Janssen, Humboldt, IA; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, January 25, 2008 at Gate City Funeral Home and other times at his residence.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 26, 2008 in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Charles Rhoton, Rev. Scott Fields and Evangelist Garry Hood officiating. Music will be provided by Bruce and Charlotte Rhoton.
Burial will follow at the Tomlinson Family Cemetery, Purchase Ridge Community. Pallbearers will be Bob Janssen, Karl Janssen, Randy Tomlinson, Michael Powers, Christopher Tomlinson and Brandon Tomlinson.
Gate City Funeral Home is serving the Janssen family.
