James Henry Babb- Kingsport, TN

James Henry Babb, 84, Kingsport, TN, passed away, Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at his residence.

James was born in Scott County, VA, on August 18, 1940, to the late John Henry Babb and Sarah Margaret (Dockery) Babb.

In addition to his parents, his grandparents, Orbin and Myrtle Dockery precede him in death.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Shirley Babb; daughter, Marilyn “Rockie” Kern (David); grandchildren, Rebecca Meade (Peter), and Andrew Kern; great grandchildren, Isaac, Elijah and Hannah Meade.

The family will receive friends from 12-1p.m., Saturday, July 5, 2025, at the Gate City Funeral Home. Services will be conducted at 1:00p.m., in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Mark Ball and Rick Vannoy officiating.

Graveside services will follow at Holston View Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
