Hubert Dean Darnell, 65, Gate City, VA, passed away Sunday, January 11, 2026, at Holston Valley Medical Center.

Hubert was born on June 5, 1960, and was the son of the late George Darnell and Callie (Edwards) Darnell.

In addition to his parents, 6 siblings preceded him in death.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 43 years, Billie Darnell; daughters, Holly Ramsey (Joseph), and Tatum Darnell; son, Alex Godsey; sisters, Virginia Grizzle and Carolyn Frazier (Eddie); brother, Earl Darnell (Charlene); grandchildren, Jasper and Zoe; and several nieces and nephews.

Huberts wishes were to be cremated; no formal services will be conducted at this time.
