Lewis H. Sloan, 76, Kingsport, TN, passed away, Saturday, October 31, 2026, at Holston Rehabilitation and Care Center.

Lewis was born in Clinchport, VA, on February 4, 1950, and was the son of the late Burley D. Sloan and Ofa M. (Bryant) Sloan.

He was an amazing dad and grandfather who put his daughters and grandchildren above everything. Selfless and caring, he would give anyone the shirt off his back. He had an especially soft spot for homeless, the lost, and the wayward souls. He saw people worth loving, and he loved them without judgment.

A total hippie, a book nerd, an artist, and a quiet man with so much kindness in him. He didn’t need to be the loudest person in the room to leave a lasing impression. His love was in the way he cared for people and the way he showed up for us.

Dad, thank you for your gentle heart, your unconditional love, and for always putting us first. We wish we had more time. We love you, and we’ll miss you always.

In addition to his parents, his brother, Marlin Eugene Sloan preceded him in death.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Jennifer Sloan Conway (Paul) and Amanda Marie Sloan; grandchildren, Preston Paul Conway, Lyndsey Nicole Conway, and Mila Jahnae Villa; sister-in-law, Karen Sloan; and nephew, Brent Sloan (Allison).

Lewis’s wishes were to be cremated; no formal services will be conducted at this time.
