Helen Frances Shelton, 95, Gate City, VA passed away, Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.

Helen was born in Scott County, VA on February 14, 1930, and was the daughter of the late Claude Harrison and Virgie (Cole) Fields.

In addition to her parents, her husband, James Samuel (J.S.) Shelton, her son, Michael Lynn Shelton, sisters, Bonnie Bellamy, Velma Robinson, Roberta Fields, Beatrice Frazier, and brothers, James (Buster), Ben, Claude, and Robert Fields preceded her in death.

She is survived by her daughter, Sherry (Bill) Robinette, sons, Dennis (Marsha) Shelton, and Kenneth (Patricia) Shelton, grandchildren, Amy (Jeremy) Bellamy, Shawn (Regina) Robinette, Justin Shelton, Kristen Shelton, and Ashley Douglas, great grandchildren, Tristan Robinette, Kaiya Robinette, and Ethan Moore, brother, Thomas D. (Mary) Fields, along with several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 17, 2025, at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel with Brother Daryle Houseright officiating.

Burial will follow at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Justin Shelton, Bill Robinette, Tristan Robinette, Jeremy Bellamy, and Ethan Moore will serve as pallbearers.
