Bessie Marie (Tyree) Harris 89, Kingsport, TN passed away Friday, May 3, 2019 at the Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center, Kingsport, TN.
Bessie was born in Elliott County, Ky on August 22, 1929 to the late William Luke and Margaret Whitt Tyree.
In addition to her parents, her sisters, Mable LeClaire, Lorene Segraves, and Violet Mitchell; and brothers, Bernard, Clayton, and Clifford Tyree preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband, Marion E. Harris, Kingsport, TN; daughter Catherine Sluss and husband, Bill, Nickelsville, VA; grandchildren, Regina(Sluss) Kinsler and husband, Larry, Nickelsville, VA and Randy Sluss, Nickelsville, VA; great granddaughter and light of her life, Haylee Kinsler, Nickelsville, VA; sister, Ruth Shumacher and husband, Larry, Flemingsburg, KY; brother, Wayne Tyree, Flemingsburg, KY; along with several nieces, nephews, and her friends from the Log House Church, Weber City, VA.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Sunday, May 5, 2019 at the Gate City Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 6, 2019 at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. A eulogy well be given by her grandson, Randy Sluss. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery Monday for the graveside service.
