Guy Henry Tipton

Guy Henry Tipton, 98, of the Bishoptown community of Duffield went home to be with his Lord and family on July 23, 2025, at Ridgecrest Manor in Duffield.

He was of the Baptist faith having attended Brick Church of Rye Cove for many years where he served as a deacon.

As long as he was able, he loved the outdoors where he hunted and fished.

Born in Scott County on October 3, 1926, to the late Kelly H Tipton and Ellen Carter Tipton, he resided there all of his life. Also preceding him in death is his loving wife of 53 years Georgia Bishop Tipton, an infant son and daughter, his precious grandson, Travis Lane, brothers: Charles Tipton and Maurice Tipton, sisters: Nannie Bishop, Hazel Herron, and Margaret Tipton.

He is survived by his daughter Joyce Lane (LC), son Carl Tipton (Teresa), grandson Jason Tipton (Brandi), granddaughter Larren Lane, great granddaughters Sarah Lane Sloan (Zach), Katelynn Crawford (Christian), Kayla Warren (Jeramy) great grandsons Cayden Spurgeon, Tyler Gibson (Caitlin), great-great granddaughters Cora Sloan (his Sugar Babe), Ellie Crawford, Payton Warren, Karsyn Warren, and Emeri Warren, great- great grandson Emmett Crawford, sisters Wilma Sloan, Lucille Tipton, brother Jack Tipton, along with several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Jason Tipton, Zach Sloan, Randy Tipton, Tracy Tipton, Cayden Spurgeon, Tyler Gibson, Jeramy Warren, and Tony Tipton.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Gate City Funeral Home. Services will be conducted at 7pm in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel with Rev. Cecil Kern and Rev. Joe Hill officiating. Denny Hass and singers will provide the music.

Graveside service will be at Holston View Cemetery in Weber City at 1:00 on Sunday, July 27, 2025. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 12:30.
