Adriana McKenzie Berry Grizzle – Gate City, VA
Adriana McKenzie Berry Grizzle, 7, Gate City, VA went Home to be with The Lord, Monday, December 25, 2017 at her residence.
Adriana, the daughter of Tommy and Michelle Grizzle, was loved by everyone who met her and touched many lives during her short time she had on this earth.
She had to face many obstacles that only she had the will to endure. Jesus saw her getting tired and decided He wanted the sweetest present for His birthday and took her into His arms and now she has a glorified body that will never get tired.
She was preceded in death by Ralph Berry (Papaw), Mary Berry (Granny Berry), and Jack Owens (Great Papaw).
In addition to her adoptive parents, Tommy Allen and Michelle Lee Grizzle, her biological parents, Anita Marie Berry and James Allen Culbertson; brother, Judd Grizzle; sister, Amber Davis and husband, Michael, all of Gate City, VA; sister, Morgan Hensley and husband, Austin, Church Hill, TN; grandmothers, Virginia Grizzle and Margaret Owens, both of Gate City, VA; mamaw, Sherry Owens; great grandmother, Durel (Maw) Culbertson, Kingsport, TN; along with several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Brother Eugene Sexton officiating. Cause One Singers and Judd Grizzle will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 29, 2017 at the Carter Cemetery (Stoney Creek), Ft. Blackmore, VA. Ashley Hicks, Amber Davis, Michael Davis, Adam Berry, Anita Ketron, and Garritt Glass will serve as pallbearers. Family and friends will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10;00 a.m., Friday to go in procession to the graveside service.
The family would like to thank Adriana’s nurse, Ashley Hicks for the loving care that she has shown Adriana for the last four years. Not only did Ashley form a bond with Adriana, she formed a lasting bond that can never be broken with the Grizzle family and there is truly love and appreciation for all that she has done; also to their dear neighbor, Anita Ketron, who was there for the family and helped in every way she could, and for that, they are truly grateful.
